Doors are a must for your house. Whether your have a baroque architecture, a Spanish revival, a renaissance or a contemporary one you will have doors for every room and entrance and exits. Of course you can not just get any kind of door. There are considerations to be made before having all the doors you need.

First thing to consider is the design of your house. A classical door design would not match a modern house while a modern sliding door design will not look well with a Tudor house. So know your house design or architecture. Once you have it you know what door design to get. For example, if your house is a Victorian-era type then a Victorian or Prairie door would be a perfect match for your house.

Now that you know your door type and it will be commonly made of hardwood, you must now look for a matching door knob. This is easy since hardware stores now have listings of door knobs for every pattern and design

Next in your list would be the type of lock your door should have. Always consider the most efficient and effective types. The door pattern is no longer relevant. Also, consider the ability of the lock to be opened from the outside using a master key or emergency release. This is important during emergency situations.
