Door Hinges

Door hinges are the door hardware that attach the door to its frame and allows it the mobility to open and close. Choosing door hinges is basically a no brainer since any type would do the job. Spring hinges are the one attached to doors that automatically close after being opened. Residential use of this type of hinge is often for an extra door before the main door. Typical

Butt hinges are the most common type. These are comprised of two metal plates connected by a steel pin, usually a bolt or a screw. One plate is attached to the door while the other is attached to the frame. The steel pin serves as a movable joint for the swinging motion of the door.

Durable

A Continuous hinge is like very long butt hinge. It is commonly used for doors that are always being used all day, which are found in libraries, hospitals and schools. The continuous hinge provides a more stable and durable hold to these doors than 3 or 4 butt hinges.
