If you find it inconvenient to always getting out of your car and walk towards your garage to open it then it is about time to get yourself a garage door opener. You may think that choosing the right one for you will be a daunting task, but fear not. The good news is that there are just about three types of door openers to choose from and you could have any of them function via remote control.

Systems using a Chain

The Chain Drive system is the most common garage door opener out there. They are also the cheapest type. The downside is that it makes a lot of noise when used. Another thing to consider is that since a chain is the sole workforce in opening and closing your garage door with the Chain Drive system you will need some maintenance work done to keep the chain in top shape.

Systems using a Screw

This garage opener system is more expensive, but it is guaranteed to be more durable and produce less noise. Another benefit of this type of garage opener is that it requires less maintenance. The downside is that it works slower.

Rubber Belt

Also called Belt Drive garage opener, this system is the most expensive of the three. But it also is the most efficient and the produces the least noise due to the use of a rubber belt.
